In Celebration of the Woman

Here I take a moment to voice a recurring thought I’ve had throughout the years.

Though never formally written about and only marginally expressed in passing comments.

Today I want to acknowledge and celebrate the woman, or rather the women, who are actively making themselves better.

As an American man, father, professional, and continually involved in bettering myself in all aspects, I get encouraged when I see a woman out walking, running, exercising, or engaged in or who has produced the results of bettering herself in anyway.

Fit is attractive. Smart is sexy. Intelligent is desirous. Clean and organized is a turn on.

Whether it’s in the early morning, in the evening, running at a good stride in the mid day – regardless of the weather, thank you.

You body appreciates it, your kids (if you have any) appreciate your efforts.

Your man appreciates it, your country appreciates it. The American way of life appreciates it and needs it.

The role model you set for others is commendable.

The discipline you enact is admirable.

The persistence you embody is praiseworthy.

The results, when you achieve them, are awesome.

The residual effects of your efforts are many.

And when you keep on, even after your desired result has been achieved, you inspire.

Mainly I write of the women I see out and about working their bodies to betterment. To maintenance and to improvement. Through exercise to a better physical ideal. There is a mountain of research into and about the many benefits of regular physical activity and being in better condition than not. The ripple effect (residual, or side benefits) permeate all aspects of your life. And it is a true encouragement to see women engaged in these activities. Though I do also applaud the woman who is actively engaged in becoming a better mother, a better wife, a better lover, a better professional, a better person overall.

Know that your efforts are greatly admired and appreciated.

You are great.

Be Great!
