The Hardest Thing I do…

I completed week seven of Mike O’Hearn’s Power Bodybuilding today. I’ve been doing Saturday through Wednesday as Day 1 – Day 5.

Day 5 entails 5 sets of three with the deadlift, 5 sets of 10 one armed dumbell rows, and 3 sets of 8 pulldowns (I’m substituting assisted pull ups as I don’t have a pull down machine). Day 5 is by far the hardest workout of the week for me. It’s the last day in a productive week and the most weight I lift with the deadlifts. An understanding of progression to keep things challenging is why it’s the hardest day. When I can complete the prescribed sets and reps the weight goes up the next week. Today I got 3 sets of three then 2 sets of two with the deadlift. I don’t want to suffer technical breakdown, so that’s what I got.

On another matter, I’ve been re-listening to Earl Nightingale’s “The Strangest Secret” lately. A fascinating program both from the content it contains as well as the historical references he uses. The program was recorded in 1986 – an updated expansion of his original program recorded in 1956. The references in 1986 are interesting, in addition to his references to events and times all through his life. A wonderful program that I highly recommend to everyone.

Life is good and the days are full with all kinds of things to do. Be Great!
