Last week I completed the twelve weeks of Power Bodybuilding.
From the onset I knew it was much more volume than I typically do. I’m glad to say I didn’t miss any workouts. It was tough for sure, keeping progression in place.
I’m also glad that it is over. Initially I was planning to take a week off from any training. One week hence I kept with the same body parts on the same days but used a different selection of exercises, reps, and sets for variety. I think it was more of a mental break I wanted than physical.
I played around with some exercises I haven’t done in a while while also feeling out different reps and sets to make a pretty good week of training. From this I firmed up my next routine to follow based on this. It may not be a full twelve week schedule as was Power bodybuilding, but will be five days a week keeping the same body parts on the same days as Power Bodybuilding.
Time will tell how long I keep with this routine, and if any changes will be made.
Mostly I think the key is to stay excited about whatever you plan to do to keep yourself in shape, also that there be progression built in. A challenge to keep you engaged and increase effectiveness.
Onward…
