Adding a format…

So on a related point, following up on the last post, and the advancements of technology, the ease of use, which I’ve mentioned before (otter.ai is what I’m using for these). And that whole bit about legacy and kind of capturing those memories and who, who people are so that your descendants, the generations after you can get a sense for who you are. I’ve been thinking a lot…

And with the technology is there, why not start leaving audio clips? And maybe even video clips? Here on this website so that in years to come.

Audio is oftentimes easier to consume than reading, especially in this day with attention being what it is and the younger generations.

Reading is good but to also hear something to hear somebody’s voice, the inflection in their voice, the passion in their voice. I think I’m gonna start doing audio clips as well maybe with the transcription as well. Why not right? And so people could get a sense for for me, you know, of course, this this website is the life Life and Times of James Wolfe or something like that without looking at the tagline. Thoughts , life and time of James Wolfe.

But anyway, I thought it was interesting. I come across every once in a while. Enhanced YouTube videos, enhanced video and audio from the 1920s – 1930s where they have in a very short and the language is different, of course, but but audio clips, you know, digitally remastered recordings of people that lived and fought in the Civil War. Of course in the 1920s that was only, you know, 40…60 years removed from that or whatever it is, you know, whatever the timeline is, and you get to take for okay, what was it like in 1800s? You know, even just briefly and I think that’s fascinating.

Of course, back then the technology is not what it is today, but today we’ve got the technology to really create that legacy, if you will. In that aspect of audio clips, I think that’s what I’m gonna start doing.

There may be a capacity issue with storage and everything.. that can be easily overcome, no problem. But just for posterity sake, as I say, or legacy. So maybe who knows? 20, 50, 100 years down the line, you know, maybe one of my descendants… my great, great grandchildren or whatever could hear. Okay, what did you know James Wolfe, what he sound like, what was he about and learn a little bit about me? Because just like I was mentioning, and I would like to have more information, photos, written you know, journal or something from my forefathers. And I think that’s what I’m gonna start doing. Talk to you later.
