At the end of last month’s post, I mentioned if there are any other new beginnings.
This seems like it would be an appropriate way to start off this month’s post, in that there are more new beginnings…
In December 2021, I resigned from the position I was at for 13 years. It was a long time there, I met lots of interesting people, and learned lots of things. I honed my skills as a sales professional and using my words to persuade… not only what I say, but how I say it and the impact of what I say, among other things. But the time had come for me to go in a different direction.
If we go back and look at the past couple of years, I was looking at making a change that would give me more time freedom and flexibility with more income potential. And so, resigning from the position December of 2021, the full-time job/career that I was at for 13 years.
Over that period of time, a lot of things had changed, gradually, that made it more and more undesirable to work there. So, when I made this shift, one of the major rewards, in the way of psychic reward and time freedom, is that I no longer work nights, weekends or holidays.
It’s with a growing company, the income potential is there and overall, it’s been a good positive change that my wife, children and I all like. I’m home on the weekends. I’m no longer working till eight o’clock at night. And for the most part, my workday is done by the time my wife and kids come home.
In another area, I’ll be taking a break this week from the training routine that I started, that I mentioned in last month’s posts.
It’s been seven weeks on the new routine. I’ve definitely built my strength back up over that period of time. The routine has remained unchanged. The only difference was I started incorporating pull ups into pull downs, which is what I was doing before just because of strength limitations.
Farmer’s Walk was something I really was looking forward to and haven’t done in the past but I’m doing now. I’ve work up to a considerable weight though it is taxing. After seven weeks I need a break so I’m taking a week off.
I may resume the same routine when I get back to it or may incorporate something different. But it’s well deserved. I’m enjoying the extra time in the mornings and throughout the day because of prep time and everything else from working out.
That’s it for this month. This this is the first full post I’ve made using the otter.ai software via the computer, though there is an app for the phone. I’m seeing (when I go back and review this) how much editing needs to be done. How accurate is the voice recognition software?
I’ve tried Dragon Naturally Speaking, voice recognition software a long time ago and it left a lot to be desired. Certainly, there’s been advancements in technology since then. I’ve seen others that use otter quite extensively for different purposes and things and so I’m giving it a try.
If this is something that frees up some time and allows me to make posts quicker without much editing then we’ll definitely keep working with it. And we’ll go from there.
We’re near the end of April 2022 – four months have flown by. I’ll speak a little bit about that next time because it’s quite interesting…something that I became aware of recently, from a story that I heard…that really reflects and expounds upon how as we age, it seems like time goes by quicker and quicker. And there’s actually science behind that. Why that happens.
Talk to you next month.
