Picking Up Where I Left Off Last Time

Last time I left off with some pressing questions.

So where does this leave me?

What do I do now?

What have I done since this new information has been presented?

More so getting to the root question: How do I replace this “lost” income stream with one that provides more revenue and time freedom.

I’ve never shied away from work to be done. It gives me a sense of accomplishment, especially if it more than meets my income goals and gives me time to enjoy life (family, recreation, investment targets, exercise, etc.).

But given the opportunity to start fresh, what kind of business, life, and income do I want to create?

And how do I go about doing that?

No easy questions, for sure.

Here are answers to a few of these questions.

Immediately, I need to seek out ways to bring in income. I have bills, kids, a mortgage, and all of that just like you do.

I need to seek out the best possibilities to do this.

One way is to reconnect with those I’ve worked with in the past and those who have inquired about working with me in the past.

Second, though somewhat less than desirable (so I’ve been told), this means going where there is a need for my services. A pressing need where I can generate revenue in short order.

To begin with this means looking at agencies. I’ve not worked for/with agencies in the past. But here there are those in the position of helping clients that may need some help with their writing.

Third, this means strategically reviewing information that I have that can solve these problems the fastest way possible.

Fourth, we get our skill set back up to speed – primarily this means improving my writing skills (speed, accuracy, critical thinking, etc.) and getting connected – again.

Lastly this means making some financial decisions using resources and investments I have built up, in the interim, so as not to get in a financial bind. Granted, these may be considered “unwise” decisions in normal times – but these are not normal times. Over the past two to three years, I’ve done well to not make compromising financial choices. But these decisions need to be made as a father and provider for my family. The time will come that I can replenish these resources.

Since the introduction of the new information I wrote about last time, I have already begun this process.

Reviewing key information (courses, books, etc.) has helped reorient my mind to the reality and gravity of the situation.

It has helped me realign my mindset to the world of opportunity that is out there for the taking (asking). And it has helped me understand the amount of work to access these opportunities.

Also, it has helped me “see” that the steps I take in the near term are temporary – if I want them to be – and only the beginning of a longer-term path that will be more prosperous and advantageous in time.

Ok, so what does this all look like on a daily basis?

Ideally…

Take time each day to:

  • Write for the reasons mentioned above.
  • Leverage, connect, and engage to key people on LinkedIn
  • Read relevant books and courses
  • Read, study, and analyze promotions
  • Take time each day to think…before the day unfolds and I get wrapped up in these other activities.

That’s what it boils down to – with a HEAVY emphasis on “putting more lines in the water”

I have to get going. Time to get busy – so much to do and limited time to get it done.

Make today an awesome and productive day!
